Vakkantham Vamsi came to the industry to become an actor but became a successful news reader instead. Meanwhile his focus shifted to direction but realized quite early that he need to be strong on the writing side to wield the megaphone. In 2004 he had written a story Ashok that didn't do well at all and finally delivered a hit in Kick.
The writer who supposedly charges 75 lakhs for his story avers, "I failed as an actor and turned to writing but this time I don't want to fail as a writer before turning to direction. I will step into the arena with complete command over my work. I'm excited with a certain aspect in my work and I try to convey it in the best of my ability." Vamsi's Oosaravelli is due for release and he is currently working on Ramcharan-Allu Arjun project, Ravi Teja-Meher Ramesh's Power and one more story for director Ramana who made Ontari.
