Ram Gopal Varma says there is a lot of difference between his creation Shiva, the Nagarjuna starrer and Sivakrishna, the character that Naga Chaitanya is playing in the upcoming film Bezawada. Shiva he avers was born from watching and being inspired from films such as Ardh Satya, Godfather, Arjun and the social conditions in 1989 but Vivek Krishna made the film from the inspiration he derived over these past 20 years from Shiva, Sarkar and other works of his favourite directors.
The backdrop music for the cycle chain episode in Shiva was modernized and reused by Vivek for Bezawada. Director Vivek says there is absolutely no similarities between the two films. In Shiva Nagarjuna begins like an underdog and slowly becomes a hero, whereas Naga Chaitanya in Bezawada has been a hero right from the beginning.
"I just tried to present some shots and scenes in a new way, Varma is one of the persons who has an influence on me but not the only person," he adds.
