1911 made in Mandarin language directed by Jackie Chan and Li Zhang is being dubbed into Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English by Indo Overseas Films to release in India. Producers Amar and V. Girish acquired the Telugu version rights under Studio N and 3K Entertainment (P) Ltd banner and are releasing it all over Andhra Pradesh on 11th November 2011.
Jackie Chan is the most sought after martial arts celluloid hero after the legendary Bruce Lee. Jackie Chan who had started his acting career at a tender age of 8 and has reached the 100th film mark with a movie befitting the occasion, titled 1911, a historical epic based on the 1911 Xinhai Revolution.
The movie narrates the story of the founding of the Republic of China when Sun Yat-sen's forces overthrew the Qing dynasty. Jackie Chan played the revolutionary leader Huan Xiang while Winston Chao acted as Sun Yat-sen. Interestingly the film also stars Chan's son Jaycee Chan in a key role.
It is interesting to note that moving away from the routine stuff of comic-action genre, Jackie Chan chose a historical drama as his 100th film.
