Colors Swathi, who switched from television to cinema, has been signed to play the second female lead in the Ram starrer Kandireega. Hansika Motwani is the first heroine. Ram and Hansika earlier acted together in B. Gopal's Maska. Kandireega, directed by debutante Santosh Srinivas and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh, is currently being shot in Hyderabad, in and around Charminar.
While on Colors Swathi, the bubbly actress is also doing a film titled 'Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju' with maverick director Ram Gopal Varma. Sunil and Sakshi are her co-stars in it. Then there is a film called Golconda High School directed by Indraganti Mohan Krishna where she plays a teacher. Sumanth is the lead man of GHS.
