After Kalakalappu (this is being dubbed into Telugu) which was a runaway hit, Sundar C will be directing Vishal in another action comedy titled MGR or Madha Gaja Raja. Hansika was thought of but later Karthika Nair took her place as the heroine. Now the info is that Karthika also opted out of the project citing that the script had undergone major changes and revealed that Vishal would only play a single role, as well as there being an addition of an extra lead actress.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was reported to have replaced her in the film, though soon after Taapsee Pannu was approached to play one of the two lead female roles. So as of now the film will have two heroines. Varalakshmi is Sarathkumar's daughter.
