Jai and Nandagi starrer Aval Peyar Tamilarasi which means Her Name Is Tamil is slated for release in Telugu in the first week of June on Vijay Entertainments banner and presented by Duraisami. The dubbing has been done and the first copy is ready. Duraisami says Jai’s Journey was received well in Andhra Pradesh and hopes that people would appreciate this film too. Vijay Antony has scored the music and songs have been written by Ponduri.
The title of the film in Telugu is Bommalata. It is directed by Kathiravan. The director in his film portrays the pitiable plight of leather or shadow puppeteers in Tamil Nadu. An art which is often considered the mother of cinema, it is a fascinating show of light-and-shadow that is now struggling to survive against the onslaught of television and other forms of modern entertainment.
