While an ugly fight goes on between Bellamkonda Suresh and Palli Kesava Rao whose film Nuvvekkadunte Nenakkadunta was to release on 16th at the producers council, Shri R. Reddy, General Secretary of Telugu Chalana Chitra Parirakshana Samithi, says, "We are running the strike to see that the lease system goes and everyone gets a fair chance to make money..Kesava Rao's film was cancelled the theatres were not given to him.
There was a small hassle of ten to fifteen lakhs. The Nizam distributor didn't turn up with the money..the exhibitor didn't give him any money..but even though they claim they have given it, eventually D. Suresh Babu cancelled all the theatres. He is the man behind everything, every time we try to fight he gets us divided. Bellamkonda Suresh is talking on behalf of him.
120 dubbing films released this year out of which 108 straight films..dubbing films are given more importance, given more theatres they don't want Telugu producers to come up..we cannot give them that sort of rent..we have movies where the share comes to one lakh ten thousand and they send us a bill that we owe them 90000 more. The movies are removed from theatres after first week.
If the movie is building slowly they will send a bill to the producer to cough up the amount then they will keep the theatre. There are other theatres where you wouldn't like to visit like Sheesh Mahal and Vijayalaksmi, which are wide open. They want us to take other theatres, they are trying to kill our films..Dil Raju, Allu Aravind, Mayuri are all ready to leave the lease to the owner. These people will drop if Suresh does, everyone is behind him."
