It has been a slow and a steady climb for Poorna but better late than never, the actor proved her mettle as a beautiful and a talented girl in Seema Tapakai, she is now back in Avunu, a Ravi Babu film. She says, "I also did Srimahalakshmi with Srihari, when I worked in that movie I was in the 10th standard. I've done Seema Tapakay after four years and still remember the riotous comedy by Allari Naresh and Sayaji Shinde especially when the latter sings Sheila..Sheila ki jawani."
Currently she is doing the remake of the Hindi film Julie in Malayalam (Chattakkari). Julie was actually a remake of a Malayalam movie. She adds, "All remakes are doing well in Kerala. First was Neelathamara, and then Rathinirvedam and now Chattakkari. I hope it will be a hatrick."
