Tapasee Pannu gently pushes her dense curls that tumble over her face and flashes her pearly whites. Her eyes sparkle, they are really something, it reflects the happiness within. Highly talkative, she doesn't take much time to get the other person chatty. "I don't crib, I'm high on life. After a year if I think I'm happy staying idle, I'll quit." she declares.
2010 passed by so quickly, the actress says most of it was spent catching flights to one town and another. The schedules were crazy but professionally very fulfilling. The Punjabi kudi's second film in Telugu Vastadu Naa Raju will be out in two weeks and her maiden film in Tamil Aadukalam has surprised industry critics. Completely shorn of make up, glamorous costumes and accessories the actress played a sobre, unconventional woman suffering from identity crisis.
"You will see me only in five salwar kameezes and same earrings throughout the story and what gives me a high is that people didn't expect me to be seen this way at all," quips Tapasee. She resembles a Madurai Anglo Indian and was a perfect match for Dhanush in the movie.
Her approach to selecting a story has changed drastically, she goes through a story narration for three hours and insists on knowing every minute detail. Just a character sketch is what glam dolls ask for, but she wants to know how she enters the story and how believable is her contribution. She is already working with top stars like Prabhas in Mr. Perfect and with Ravi Teja in Veera, very soon she will be letting out some more exciting projects for her fans and the media.
Tapasee adds, "The first time, the film chooses you and next, you choose the film and thereon." The lady recollects sitting in the class room and seeing her future, a very conventional life style, plenty of studying to do, a nine to five job, etc., which shook her up, now she is hundred percent happy for giving acting a shot and is made for the industry.
There have been remarks that she's too chubby and the actress says she can't do much about it. She had asked her trainer to help her with zero percent fat and he explained to her painstakingly that even if she were to become size zero, she would look the same way as she is now. After Jhummandi Naadam, she tried kickboxing, "My focus in on to get a toned look, I will continue to eat healthy," she avers.
After the shoot when she goes home, she expects the same amount of pampering she receives on the sets but her parents will not have anything of it, because there is another young pretty girl who demands more attention. Tapasee loves her sister and wants to do anything to make her happy.
