Seetha turns livid when you ask her the reason for her hiatus in Telugu movies. "I have never given a break, you guys have forgotten me and never give me a meaty role. What is the point in doing two minute roles and going out of memory? I'm from Vizianagaram, please keep it in mind."
The actor has signed a film, a Vishnu starrer to be directed by Nageswara Reddy in January and a movie as Puttaparthi Sai Baba's sister-in-law being directed by Kodi Ramakrishna and a Kannada film with Upendra by P. Vasu. Her up and coming movie is Nandeeswarudu, a Tarakaratna starrer.
Currently in Cochin working with Mohan Lal, Seetha says Television is like an insurance cover for all artistes who go without work for brief period, it keeps them busy and pampers them with a good pay packet.
Seetha says, "Though I do films, I always make sure I have at least one serial in hand, by the first of every month my cheque gets deposited, small role or big role. For those who go without movies for a few months, the money from television helps them to keep commitments. I have taken up a project for Zee channel called Gopura Kalasam that will be launched by the Velayudham producers shortly.
On the flip side yes we do a lot of weeping and emotional scenes, and I guess we have to deliver what the audience expect from us. I have mastered the art of crying without letting the tears roll out of my eyes and on my cheeks. Some people cry hysterically I need to go through an emotional torture and swallow my tears in these serials."
As a heroine she would look graceful draped in sarees and long-plaited hair. Her fans were disappointed when she tonsured her head for a religious purpose but even then she looked beautiful, her favourite accessory was a nose ring.
She adds, "Yes, I do put on that DVD and watch those films sometimes. I would have knee length hair and my eyes would always be moist. I would always sport a wig because the hair dresser would comb my hair backward and it would fall off. I had to protect my hair. I do love nose rings and sometimes I take my ear rings off and put it on my nose to match my sarees."
Post her divorce eleven years back, Seetha remains a happy and a contented woman. "My oldest daughter is tall, beautiful. She has done B.Com and was earlier working. I asked her to look out for another job close to the house as she had to travel 40 kms to work.
The second one, Keerthana was offered a movie by Mani Ratnam but she wasn't interested. She is now working in Mani Ratnam's direction department for a film launching Karthik's son as the hero. My mother-in-law and my parents live with me and they handle my daughters when I am at work. That makes my life doubly comfortable."
