Saranya Mohan is not all ambitious, she is plain-hearted, leads a simple lifestyle and pursues dance and music as her hobby. She lives with her sister Sukanya Mohan and parents in Alleppey and they run a dance school Yuva Kala Bhavan. Her parents are dancers as well and the entire family's focus is on this dance school.
She may be an actress but her ambition in life is to become a dance teacher. Just 20, she has completed BA from St. Joseph's College in Alleppey and is on her way to sign her way to begin her third film with Varun Sandesh.
She was introduced as a child artiste by director Fazil, but her first film as a heroine was in "Yaradi Nee Mohini" a remake of Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule, there is "Chemistry" which is set for release on November 10. The film with Bipin a newcomer and directed by Vijay Thambi deals with the misuse of mobile phones. Saranya avers it's a completely heroine-oriented movie. Village Lo Vinayakudu will release earlier, it has her playing Krishnudu's love interest.
Director Saikiran Adivi of Village Lo Vinayakudu lavishes praise on her. He says she would ask him the meaning of every single word in her dialogues, translate it into Malayalam and then would give a fantastic performance. Her work was whole-hearted. Saranya on her part says she loved working with Krishnudu, and when she saw him first she was excited..he was so fat, cute.
She adds that the hero is good-mannered, decent and very co-operative.."I loved the pre-climax scene when I go to my dad and tell him that Krishnudu is my love but he is the centre of my life. I cried without glycerine."
Being a dancer, she had even composed a few steps..Muddugaare Yashoda and Neeli Meghama are her favourite songs in the film. The actress says Alleppey is a beautiful place and is more or less like Rajahmundry where shooting of Village Lo Vinayakudu took place.
She quips, "We have house boats, coconut tress, paddy fields, back water and it's just beautiful". When she is not shooting Saranya sings and dances, her favourite singer is AR Rehman, she is very selective about her roles and all the money she earns from movies she would want to invest it in her dance school.
About Malayalam movies she says there is no proper marketing and publicity for it as budget is very low. Her motto is to be happy always, and gets busy for her next shot for Naani starrer "Bheemli..Kabaddi Jattu".
