The promos of Gabbar Singh are out and the item number has already gone viral in matter of hours. It's now loud and clear that Munni Badnaam Hui pales in comparison with our very own 'Kevvu Keka'; The movie aficionados can't wait to see the beautiful Nathalia Kaur swing to this mass number by Devisri Prasad but who is this Nathalia Kaur and what made Ramgopal Varma go bonkers over her looks, termed her electrifying and tweeted that he is yet to see someone more beautiful than her.
He preferred her over his original choice Sunny Leone for an item song Dan Dan in Department. A Brazilian model of Indian descent, hails from Rio de Janeiro, Nathalia Pinheiro started her career at the age of 14 but later changed her name to Kaur. Was it to further her Hindi movie career?
The actor says, "No, it isn't true. My surname Pinheiro is quite big and difficult to pronounce. Hence, I chose the Punjabi surname 'Kaur' as my father's family is Punjabi. Kaur highlights my Indian descent, is comparatively easy to pronounce and the audience can also connect to it very well."
Ask her about her family and she says, "My family is only about me and my mother. We both are like one soul. As a child, I remember the way my mother used to caress my head when I didn't get sleep. This is one memory that I will always cherish. I started my modelling career for financial independence, everything followed consequently. In India, I have always been amazed by the film industry. It is a magic created by actors transporting you to another world."
The song 'Dan Dan' in Department is just an introduction to Nathalia Kaur and she has already signed two Hindi films, before doing this item number. Also she has done Indrajit Lankesh's 'Dev S/O Mudde Gowda' down South.
Nathalia elaborating on Dan Dan, "I loved doing the item number. It has been shot in such an amazing way! As RGV correctly said, 'An item song when it's correctly done, with the essence and meaning, is nothing but a video folio to show your capable skills.'
Does she feel any pressure doing Gabbar Singh as Munni has been a huge hit and the expectation would be to normally cross it? I was approached for 'Gabbar Singh' after they noticed me in 'Dan Dan' song from Department. They liked me in it and wanted me to do this dance number in their movie. There is no pressure at all.
I believe in my work and I'm focused. I always set a goal for myself and I am not satisfied till the time I achieve it. Sometimes the road is easy and smooth, sometimes hard. If working hard is not enough I will work harder and I am sure success will eventually follow.
So what does future hold for you and what is the best thing you enjoy about being an actor? "What future holds, only God knows. I can only do my job with full dedication. I think the best thing about being an actor is the multitude of emotions you get to express. All the feelings we have to emote in our character played, comes from thousands of different traits we hide or hold inside us."
