She has a lovely name..Sidhika Sharma but JD Chakravarthy rechristened her Lucky Sharma in All The Best, very sure that she would prove to be lucky for the film. The movie sank at the Box-Office but Sidhika Sharma's spirits haven't dampened, she has no qualms being addressed Lucky.
The actor quips, "Hits and misses are part of the industry, I believe what one needs to see is the story, performance, there could be many reasons why a film doesn't work but I think JD must have seen Salman Khan's movie and liked the name Lucky very much and gave it to me."
Lucky from Dehradun says her inspiration to get into films are all the South heroines and considers a Telugu film a better launch and the work experience in Hyderabad a perfect ground to groom any actor. She is currently doing her second film with Krishna Vamsi titled Paisa that has Nani as her co-star.
Isn't she lucky to get a film in quick succession despite a flop? "See, that means the name Lucky did work for me. I have also signed a Tamil film with Karthi and the director hasn't been finalised but the shooting is scheduled from September onwards. While I played a poor girl in All The Best, I'm a rich girl in Paisa, a minister's daughter.
The film isn't colourful or vibrant like most people think, most of it is shot in old city. Krishna Vamsi is a creative person and he makes an actor give 15 takes, with us not more than two or three but still he will stretch and test one's capacity to the maximum saying you can still do it better. Even if you do 99.9% well, he will push you to give 100 percent."
The actor says she has picked up Telugu fast and is dubbing for Paisa, her voice is husky but she is glad to contribute something different. Lucky had completed her studies last year and she had now joined NIFT to do jewellery designing; Right from her childhood she had a knack and a talent for picking all the right things, mixing and matching clothes and now she has moved a step ahead to design jewellery.
"I'm opening my outlet in Delhi very soon and my career in Hindi cinema? I guess that will have to wait. I just got started here and I have a long way to go."
