Anjali explains, "I had given an interview to a magazine and told them I traveled as far as Brazil and got to know that people practice black magic there and the next thing I see is I get written about practicing it. I was upset but not anymore. I do tarot card reading and I guess it isn't that harmful.
When I moved to New York I discovered my psychic intuitions were very strong and I practiced it during baby showers and other gatherings and it all turned out to be true. Now friends call me in the middle of my shoot. I find all this spiritually empowering and gratifying to give the energy and to heal."
Standing tall at 5 foot 9 inches, Anjali is making her debut as one of the heroines in Pawan Kalyan film, she was roped in after the producers saw her on the Kingfisher calender. Her mother a Malayali and her dad a Nainital Brahmin met and married in Goa, Anjali was born in Mumbai. Her mother being a model, she was Ms Cochin, Ms Goa etc, was more than encouraging and Anjali knew she had it in her and participated in many college shows and for designers and choreographers.
The actor has vivid memories of Visakhapatnam and calls it the most beautiful place in India. She reminisces, "I was a globe trotter, a true gypsy, as my dad was in the Navy and I had lived my early three years in Vizag. I can still remember Rishikonda, the Dolphin light house, the beach and me hiking up and down the hills. I just hope I get a film and a chance to shoot there soon."
Anjali doesn't elaborate much on her role but says that she loved shooting with Pawan Kalyan. She adds, "I am Jhanvi and you'll be completely amazed to see me in such an incredible role. Both of us me, and Sarah-Jane Dias love him very much in the film, I just had one scene with Sara, she shot most of her part in Kerala and Chennai and whatever little we could do it was all good. The choreographer who did Sheila Ki Jawani has choreographed my songs too."
The actor hasn't seen much of the city as she was restricted to Ramoji Film City. Not many know that Anjali is a belly dancer and writes poetry, is into yoga too. The warm and amiable actor describes her work as therapeutic. She signs off, "The moving camera, the dances and every single moment is exciting, I chose Telugu cinema as a launch pad as actors like Sridevi, Deepika, Katrina all were successful starting their journey down south, I hope to be successful like them some day."
