June 25, 2012 Y. Sunitha Chowdhary

With a six crore market that revolves around him, Allari Naresh has long proven that he is above hits and misses, he can do a Shambo Siva Shambo with panache and on another side Seema Sastry like a duck takes to water. Recently he has been offered 17 Tamil films that has him as the second hero.
As Sudigadu, the remake of Thamizh Padam gets ready, the actor talks about his other projects as well and states that he is not inclined for a six-pack body. "Sudigadu has every cliché and formula of 108 popular films made from 2000 onwards to 2012 and some that are yet to be released. We have picked scenes and dialogues that are funny, that have worked and lampooned them.
In case people have forgotten, there will be background music to remind them of the film that it has been picked from. Only 30% is from Thamizh Padam, we have included faction and naxalism that are more in demand and not Mooga Manasulu or some vague Janaki Ramudu, this is for the recent generation."
He adds that they didn't incorporate the dialogues just because it rhymed but because the scene demanded it. "For instance Naako Kukkundi, daaniko bokkundi (bone) is from Gabbar Singh's Nakonchem Tikkundi kaani daaniko lekkundi. They are all so silly and funny that I enjoyed dubbing. On a spoof on 'Boys', the senior actors are all my juniors, MS Naryana calls me Hey Dude and Kondavalasa instead of saying Bro pronounces it as Bru."
With the rise in prices for satellite rights and Naresh's comedy clippings and songs being shown at least four times in every channel, the demand for the actor has gone up; Comedy is something that people will enjoy seeing twice or thrice and his film over sentiment and action stories and the trailers guarantee a dekko but does he miss holding an axe, is he trapped in his image?
"Not at all. In Gamyam I revolt, hit when people tear a prostitutes clothes. If the emotion is necessary people will accept it. Didn't Sunil who was a comedian wow people when he tore his shirt, showed his six pack and beat the baddies to pulp? Didn't Venkatesh who was passive rebel when his mother was targeted in Chanti?," he avers.
Ask him if he will sport a six-pack and he says, "It is difficult, you got to stay without water and maintain it. It won't suit me, I'm lean and as long as I be this way it's enough." His next movie is a 3D which will thrill the audiences. If he hits a container with spices, it will fall into the viewer's eyes, that is the kind of feel it will give. There is plenty of comedy in it. Fifty percent is done and so is another socio-fantasy which is half way through.
In it Naresh will be falling in love with Yama's daughter and Yama is Sayaji Shinde. There is answer for those who think Sayaji's Telugu isn't perfect, the tentative title is "Marathi Yamudu..ithaniki Telugu raadhu." Now that all his contemporaries are getting married, when he is tying the knot? "I'm busy attending weddings, once that is done it will be my turn," he guffaws.
