Whether it is Kireedam, Madrasapattinam, Nanna or Poi Solla Porom, director AL Vijay has shown amazing versatality. The young, happening director comes up with amazing ideas and doesn't have qualms embarking on them despite the risks and gives it all his attention. Currently his pet project Siva Thandavam is in the process of being completed and it is an action thriller with Vikram playing the hero.
"Since most of the Tamil films are being watched here and the good response we got for Nanna, we had decided to cast Jagapathi Babu as the other hero and he had done a great job. When I approached him with this role of a cop and even before I narrated the script he said yes. We call him JB Sir. I think I should be gifted to work with Vikram again and just not that the script demands the presence of VIkram."
The director says most of the film has been shot in London and it is about friendship between two people Siva (Vikram) and Sharath Kumar (Jagapathi Babu). There is of course a love story that revolves around Anushka who plays a doctor and Vikram that forms another aspect of the film. The buddies says Vijay are working with the RAW.
He adds, "If I want to do ten films in my career, I want each of them to be different. I don't wnat to be labelled as doing only kind of film. It will not only motivate me but also give me all the pleasure in doing the job.
I had Siva Thandavam (Thandavam in Tamil) on my mind for the past two years. It has a fantastic power-packed performance and Vikram's fans will not be disappointed. The other actors are Amy Jackson, Lakshmi Rai, Sayaji Shinde, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Santhanam, etc."
Vijay finally avers, "It's about a poor son being betrayed by a selfish motive, it is a revenge drama and the anger is likened to Thandavam, an expression of Siva. The anger which is taken out on the traitor. We have also shot in Delhi and Chennai. My films will always have two elements human values and sensibility. We are aiming for a September release."
