The muhurat of Sai Gokul Films' Rudramani was held on Monday, February 19, 2007, at Botanical Gardens, Madhapur, Hyderabad. Abbas and Tanu Roy faced the camera for the inaugural shot. Noted director Samudra sounded the clapper-board, while Peddapalli TRS MLA Geetla Mukunda Reddy switched on the camera and Tammareddy Bharadwaja directed the muhurat shot.

"I have earlier directed a Hindu film titled Meri Manzil. The lead role in the film (played by Abbas) has a social responsibility towards the society. It will be shot in Hyderabad, Bhadrachalam and Kinnerasani. It is a social drama. Of course, there'll be a bit of fiction as well," informed director Khaleel.

The producer Edara Rangarao has a real estate background.
