National Award winning actress Tara celebrated her birthday on the sets of Maithri Kala Mandir Prod. No. 1, directed by Vemu and produced by Shekhar Yelamanchi. She is playing an important role in the film. Also starring Suman, Ranganath, Venu Gopal, Priyanka and Eeswari Rao, the film has music by Koti, cinematography by Ram Pinisetty, editing by V. Nagi Reddy and art by Babjee.

The film portrays the struggle of a woman against the Jogini system prevalent in the state. "The shooting will be wrapped up in one schedule and the film will be released in May 2006," informed Shekhar Yelamanchi. Tara makes a comeback in Tollywood after a long break since 'Neti Siddhartha' and 'Maa Inti Katha', both released in 1990, with this film. "Tara is playing a pivotal role named Devakka, while I am playing her brother," said Suman.
