Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao sounded the clapper-board, Ramesh (of Prasad Labs) directed the muhurat shot and MS Raju switched on the camera. Produced by Shantha Kumari, wife of Srihari, under the banner of Sri Chalana Chitra, the film has Srihari's favorite Chandramahesh in the director's seat. Chandramahesh had earlier directed Srihari in 'Okkade' and 'Ayodhya Ramayya'. 'Hanumanthu' has music by Vandemataram Srinivas, cinematography by Adusumilli Vijaykumar, editing by Goutam Raju, dialogues by Veligonda Srinivas and action by Horseman Babu. The muhurat dialogue of the film is "Jayam... hanumanthu vijayam. Dhairyam kosam andaru ninnu kolustaru. Apadalo maa oori janam nannu pilustaru. Ammaki matichchanu. Ooru midha ottesanu. Sanjivinini pattanam ninchi teesuku vastanu." Speaking on the occasion, Srihari said, "Prakash, hailing from Chennai, provided the story for the film. Since it is a big budget film, we have decided to produce it on our own." Shantha Kumari said, "The film will have a village backdrop and will star three heroines. We will disclose the details soon." Chandramahesh said that the film has all the ingredients expected of a Srihari starrer.
